All that Remains
Stitched linen wraps the old key whose imprint is transferred to both fabric and threads. Memories pass down the generations but with less tangible connection as the years pass. For many Palestinian families, the house key is the only physical remnant of their previous home.

The Key of Return, commemorating over 500 Palestinian villages occupied, depopulated and in many cases later destroyed during the Nakba. The name of each village is stencilled, printed, appliqued or embroidered on to the 1.45m key.
